Our approach
to sustainability

CAP conducted a strategic exercise in order to define the Group's direction for the upcoming years, focusing efforts on the development of an industrial value chain based on decarbonization, which will be the roadmap for the Group and its operating companies.

Sustainability model

CAP Group's Sustainability Model defines the guidelines, principles and key objectives to achieve sustainable growth in all its companies.

Long-term strategic objectives;

to innovate in the supply of “green” products and services, generating shared value with each and every one of the stakeholders.

Differentiating strategic axes with specific KPIs, which ensure CAP Group’s activities and sustainable growth.

An operation of excellence, responsible and profitable, linked to compliance KPIs that can ensure the continuation of the “license to operate”.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE SDGS

CAP is part of the Global Compact Network in Chile and adheres to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which constitute an orientation for the contribution to the sustainable development of the territories and communities in which the Group's operations are located.

Quality education

Support to specific programs, such as Alfadeca, Educación Dua, and support to public municipal schools. Practicum programs from different universities and technical colleges.

Gender equality

Policies and actions that promote the inclusion of women in its company boards, and in management, executive and operations roles in the organization.

Clean water and sanitation

Sustainable supply and consumption of water through Aguas CAP’s desalinating plant.

Decent work and economic growth

Territorial development through quality job creation, and alliances with local suppliers and associations.

Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Investment plans for its projects and operating sites, with an unconditional commitment to safety and sustainability.

Sustainable cities and communities

Territorial management plant with a constant strengthening of the work with its stakeholders.

Responsible consumption and production

Circular economy in waste re-use and recycling processes, e.g., the Magnetite Plant in Tierra Amarilla, which recovers iron ore from tailings.

Climate Action

Sustainable Growth strategy based on decarbonization, with innovating initiatives such as the Green Hydrogen Pilot Project.

STAKEHOLDERS

CAP Group permanently engages with its stakeholders, through different channels, in order to stay up to date regarding the identification of needs, requirements and priorities. Each of the Group’s operating companies has its own engagement plan, according to their context and type of activity.
