The use of language that does not discriminate or mark differences between men and women is one of the concerns of our Organization. However, its use in our language raises very different solutions, on which linguists have not yet reached agreement.
In this sense and in order to avoid the graphic overhead that would be used in Spanish to mark the existence of both sexes, we have chosen to use the classic generic masculine, in the understanding that all mentions in such gender always represent to everyone, all men and women, clearly covering both sexes.
